Many children love the idea of having their "own" perfume, just like Mama and Baba. But how do you choose the right one for a child? Here's a simple guide for parents.
Why a perfume made for kids?
Adult perfumes are usually strong and long-lasting, which is too much for a child. Perfumes made for kids are typically lighter and softer, with sweet, fresh or fruity scents that suit little ones better. They also come in fun, colourful bottles that children love.
1. Choose a soft, light scent
For children, less is more. Look for gentle scents such as:
- Sweet and fruity: popular with younger girls
- Fresh and clean: like sea breeze, cotton or citrus, often loved by boys
- Warm and cosy: soft, comforting scents that suit everyone
Avoid heavy, smoky or very spicy fragrances.
2. Think about your child's age
